I did 14 miles tonight, on a loop around Maidenhead, passing through Cookham and Bray on the way. It was a bit cold and damp, but not as bad as yesterday, when I wimped out of going for a ride.
For the last few weeks part of this route has taken me past a field of turkeys near Cookham. Sometimes I have seen them out in the field, and other times I have heard them gobbling away inside huge poly-tunnels. But tonight there was no sign of them.
Where can they all have gone?

Just like to say I enjoy your blog, and you have incentivised (is that a word) me to make some goals for 2009, like yourself. Most of this year I've been commuting to and from work, and must have done 4000 plus miles, though I have a computer on the bike, sometimes I forget to put it on etc., and rarely input the mileages I've done into my blog, just lazy, forgetful or not organised enough. Currently I'm off the road, after an accident involving me,my bike and some ice. Off work for at least a week, with banged up knee and shoulder, and missing cycling badly already. With this time on my hands, I should be able to come up with a few goals. Good luck
Thank you Welshcyclist. I am sorry to hear about the fall, and good luck with the recovery.
FWIW, the turkeys featured on the Hairy Bikers last night. They live on!
I'd tell you, but my mum told me never to speak with my mouth full.
